Wedding Bells

A wedding cake - they wanted a three-tier cake for 150 people. Dimensions for the tiers were 8"-12"-14".
The base was a chocolate sponge cake with rhum and a coconut filling.
The flowers were the ones used throughout the wedding.

I am glad to say the couple is still happily married :-)

Hungry Hippo

What do you get when you combine a hungry hungry hippo, an elephant, a pig and a bear ? A delicious cake, that's what !

The figurines were modelled in sugarpaste, and the cake is a strawberry merengue gateau.

This one was made for a 1-year old birthday, so you can imagine someone made a very big mess afterwards ;-)
Not a crumble left from the cake, though ...

The Garden Gnome

This is a cake I did for a client who wanted a garden theme as well. She really wanted the bird's nest and some flowers arranged on top.

It doesn't look like it in the pictures, but it fed about 50 people.

I snuck in the garden gnome as a surprise - isn't he the cutest ;-)

Flower cake

I created this cake for a friend's birthday party. She really loves gardening, and wanted a floral theme.

The flowers are made with marzipan and the cake's flavours are Victoria sponge with raspberry coulis - one of many children's favourite combinations.

Yummy :-)
